Washington D.C. | Day 2

To say today was "fun" or a "good day" seems, in a way, inappropriate, but it was so good to experience it with a good friend and someone who didn't rush me or ask "are you going to read every single sign?" Today, we visited the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.Yes, the subject matter is heavy, but I'll tell you, we left with so many stories and examples of bravery and diligence and overcoming.

But then we left the museum and went for something lighter. This included more subway rides, which always provide lots of great people watching.

Dinner tonight was in the Old Town area of Alexandria again at a spot called Virtue Feed & Grain.Yummy.

We strolled the streets and shops in the Hoffman District and found a couple of really cute shops. First, one of us needed a scarf and the other gloves so we popped in a cute boutique.Check.

There are piles of snow here and there. I assume they're left from the huge storm a couple of weeks ago. Now that we've purchased a new scarf and gloves, I can assure you it will be in the 60s tomorrow.

Then, we found a Sur La Table. If you've not heard of this, it's like a French Williams-Sonoma and is just fun to walk the aisles. They even offer cooking classes.

Just because this day needed to end on a silly note.
